David Corcoran~Artwork
David Corcoran was born in Seattle Washington USA and he grew up in Boston Massachusetts. David began drawing in grade school where he and friends enjoyed drawing dinosaurs, space ships and robots. Their favorite illustration was “The Bionic Head” consisting of a head profile filled with gears and circuitry.
As an adolescent David discovered his penchant for more advanced projects when he employed the family's super 8 camera to create a stop action film using a robot action figure and including a fiery special effect. Later on in high school art classes David’s talents were pointed out and encouraged by some great teachers.
After High school David spent a summer hitchhiking around Europe. There he reinforced his passion for art and developed new ones for industrial design and architecture. Returning to Boston David began six years working under stained glass artist Jim Anderson and during that period began studying at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, focusing on painting, sculpture and performance art, spending his junior year studying in Paris and graduating from the Museum School in 1992.
Since then David has followed an eclectic creative path completing numerous paintings, public murals, furniture designs and working as an illustrator, sculptor, set builder/painter and actor. His artwork is included in many private collections has been exhibited in New York, Paris, Boston and Vermont and California.
After 12 Years in New York City David currently lives in Los Angeles California.
